Phase 6: Products - COMPLETED โ (2025-11-04)
Implementation Summary: Complete product display functionality with API endpoints, UI components, and pages for browsing Makerspace annual passes.
Deliverables (7 files):
- โ
server/api/products/index.get.ts- Product list API with role-based filtering - โ
server/api/products/[id].get.ts- Product detail API with UUID validation - โ
app/components/Product/ProductCard.vue- Product card component (109 lines) - โ
app/components/Product/ProductGrid.vue- Product grid layout (67 lines) - โ
app/pages/products/index.vue- Product list page (137 lines) - โ
app/pages/products/[id].vue- Product detail page with cart integration (236 lines) - โ
Demo pages for testing (
/internal/products-demo,/internal/product-detail-demo)
Key Features:
- ๐ Role-based Visibility: Products filtered by user's approved roles (CLAUDE.md requirement)
- ๐ Cart Integration: Functional "Add to Cart" with toast notifications and auto-open cart
- ๐ฑ Mobile-First Design: Responsive with glassmorphism effects
- โจ Advanced UI: Badges, discount percentages, hover effects (image zoom, scale)
- โก Database Optimization: Indexes on
active,category,nav_product_id - ๐ English URLs:
/productsinstead of/produkte(CLAUDE.md requirement)
Technical Highlights:
- Unauthenticated users see NO products (security by default)
- Category filtering via query parameter (comma-separated)
- Stock validation on add-to-cart
- Toast notifications using vue-sonner
- Proper error handling (404, 500) with user-friendly messages
All Acceptance Criteria Met (10/10):
- โ API endpoints for product list and detail
- โ ProductCard, ProductGrid components
- โ Product list and detail pages
- โ Image handling (placeholder + DB support)
- โ Responsive design (mobile/tablet/desktop)
- โ Schema documentation
Recent: UI/UX Refinements (2025-11-03)
After completing Phase 5 (Checkout), we implemented critical UX improvements based on user testing:
Route Localization (English URLs):
โ Comprehensive route migration from German to English
/kasseโ/checkout(checkout page)/zahlungโ/payment(payment page)/warenkorbโ/cart(cart - not a page, but reference updated)/bestellung/bestaetigen/[orderId]โ/order/confirm/[orderId](order confirmation)/bestellung/erfolg/[orderId]โ/order/success/[orderId](success page)- Updated all navigateTo() calls and NuxtLink references (11+ locations)
- Files renamed: 4 page files, maintaining folder structure
- Rationale: URLs should be English for international audience (CLAUDE.md updated)
Cart Sidebar Access Fix:
โ Fixed "Warenkorb bearbeiten" button on checkout page
- Problem: Button linked to
/cartpage (doesn't exist - cart is sidebar/sheet) - Solution: Added CartSidebar/CartSheet to app.vue globally
- Changed NuxtLink to button with
@click="openCart"using useCartUI composable - Responsive rendering: CartSheet (mobile) / CartSidebar (desktop)
- Tested with Playwright - cart sidebar now opens correctly
Cart Item Position Stability:
โ Fixed items jumping positions during quantity updates
- Problem: Items swapped positions when updating quantity (PostgreSQL unpredictable order)
- Root Cause: Database query had no ORDER BY clause in
server/utils/cart-helpers.ts - Solution: Added
orderBy: asc(cartItems.addedAt)to maintain chronological order - Impact: Items now maintain stable positions, preventing accidental wrong-item clicks
Text Selection Prevention:
โ Prevented accidental text selection during fast clicking
- Problem: Double-clicking Plus/Minus buttons selected quantity numbers
- Solution: Added
select-noneCSS class to:- Quantity controls container
- Plus/Minus buttons
- Quantity display
- Subtotal section
- Result: No text selection possible in cart item controls
Scrollbar Styling Fix:
โ Fixed elliptical scrollbar appearance
- Problem: Scrollbar had excessive border-radius (
rounded-full) looking like ellipse - Solution: Changed to
rounded-mdinapp/components/ui/scroll-area/ScrollBar.vue - Result: Professional-looking scrollbar with appropriate 6px border-radius
Cart State Synchronization:
โ Cart clears after order completion
- Backend already cleared cart in
/api/orders/confirm/[id].post.ts - Added
fetchCart()call in success page to sync frontend state - Result: Cart badge shows "0" after successful order
Mock PayPal Button Created:
โ Created missing MockPayPalButton.vue component
- PayPal branding with official blue (#0070ba) and logo
- 2-second mock payment simulation with loading state
- Amount display with German currency formatting
- Developer notice that it's a mock
- Proper event emission for success callback
Files Modified (7):
app/pages/checkout.vue- Cart edit button + route updatesapp/pages/payment.vue- Route updatesapp/pages/order/confirm/[orderId].vue- Route updatesapp/pages/order/success/[orderId].vue- Cart refresh + route updatesapp/components/MockPayPalButton.vue- Created new componentapp/components/Cart/CartItem.vue- Text selection preventionapp/components/ui/scroll-area/ScrollBar.vue- Border-radius fixserver/utils/cart-helpers.ts- Stable orderingapp/app.vue- Global cart components

-
โ Validation & Utilities (Agent 4)
- German error messages (277 lines)
- Date formatting utilities (234 lines)

- โ Session management functional
- โ Timestamps (created_at, updated_at) working
- โ Test credentials documented in .env.example

๐ Next Steps
-
โก PRIORITY: Start Phase 7 - Payment (Real PayPal Integration)
- Read
tasks/07-payment.mdfor detailed tasks - Replace MockPayPalButton with real PayPal SDK integration
- Install PayPal SDK (@paypal/checkout-server-sdk or @paypal/paypal-js)
- Configure PayPal credentials (Sandbox + Production)
- Implement PayPal Create Order endpoint (
/api/payment/paypal/create.post.ts) - Implement PayPal Capture Payment endpoint (
/api/payment/paypal/capture.post.ts) - Implement PayPal webhook handler for payment notifications (
/api/payment/paypal/webhook.post.ts) - Replace MockPayPalButton component with real PayPal button
- Update order confirmation flow (streamline if needed)
- Test with PayPal sandbox (use test credentials)

- โ ๏ธ High Priority: Stock validation to prevent overselling
- Medium Priority: Order number race condition
- Medium Priority: Mock PayPal architecture improvements
- Low Priority: Schema duplication, payment ID consistency

-
Then Phase 8 - Order Processing (BullMQ + X-API)
- Read
tasks/08-order-processing.mdfor detailed tasks - Install BullMQ + ioredis for queue management
- Setup Redis connection for queue storage
- Create order processing queue and worker
- Implement X-API client utility with retry logic
- Transform orders to X-API format (EUR โ Cents, ISO dates)
- Submit completed orders to NAV ERP via X-API
- Setup BullBoard dashboard for queue monitoring
- Test order submission with mock X-API
- Implement error handling and logging
- Read
Rationale: With products display complete (Phase 6), users can now browse and add items to their cart. The next critical step is replacing the mock PayPal integration with real payment processing (Phase 7), which will enable actual transactions. After payment is working, we'll implement order processing (Phase 8) to submit orders to the NAV ERP system via X-API. This sequence ensures a complete e-commerce flow from product selection โ payment โ order fulfillment.
Let's build this! ๐
